A group of eight pillows aligned on a base depict
the changes of a picture from clear sunny sky to a dark stormy night.
This progression emphasizes the unpredictable oscillations of the
climate, but also creates a color scale that ends up dissolving the
image, in a similar ways to the visual effect of fade out. Using
pillows, this work also explores the variations of dreams; the transitions
between pleasure and nightmares, between the forecast of a clear
day and the result of a devastated landscape after the storm. Fade
Out is finally a reflection of the big tragedy caused by the rain
in Vargas State, Venezuela in 1999. |
